Gender-Neutral Restroom

This restroom facility is the first specifically designed gender-neutral facility at Columbia University and the prototype for an overall GSAPP restroom master plan. The project and design were arrived at with input from students and various advocacy groups to provide design decisions that best serve the University and GSAPP community as it goes forward. Of principal importance were individuated stalls with an interior light, mirror, and shelf for the user to allow full privacy. The space is clean, bright, and open to all with all provisions for individual comfort.
